Amanda Bossard was just out high school when she began her marine biology studies at Alaska PacificUniversity in Anchorage. Bossard began her career in the commercial seafood industry at the age of 1999, after she began working as a crew member on the F/V Sunset, a 65' halibut schooner turned into a salmon tender for Murat Aritan. She has been who has been a commercial fisherman since 1993. Bossard is currently engaged to Aritan and they have come together to prove their rights to the industry. They support conservative and sustainable renewable resource management. Otolith was founded by Philadelphia by Bella Bossard who is now mom to two boys who are aged three and one Bossard. The husband of the business has a lengthy experience in the industry of fish, which often keeps them separated from each other for five months or more. That's when they're focusing on their financial and environment goals. Bossard's daughters Isabella, age 12, and son Andre, age 10, come back each year each year to Southeast Alaska to work in the position of deckhand during wild salmon season. With a small 42 troller they catch salmon using hooks. They work in conjunction with Aritan in a local processing plant for a couple of weeks.
